This Middle Eastern tuned hi D is made from a dark piece of
western red cedar. It would be a good idea to buy or make a carrying case to
protect this flute. The lowest hole is offset to the right making it better
suited for a right handed person.
This flute is tuned to a Middle Eastern scale similar to a
Hijaz scale. It has a different fingering than our other flutes with the lowest
hole set further away from the rest of the holes. We often offset this hole to
one side to make it easier to reach. This kind of flute is a little more difficult
to play because of the unusual finger hole placement.
