Description Technical Specs

Our flute kit in the key of F# is hand made out of western red cedar and tuned to the pentatonic minor scale. This flute is not a good choice for someone with small or inflexible hands. The fingering hole stretch is slightly more than our G flute kit. This key has a lovely low, mellow voice.

Please take a moment to visit our website and listen to our sound samples.
All of our six hole Native American style flute kits are produced in the same careful way as our Premiere, and Basic flutes. They are carefully tuned and fully playable when you get them. Choose an unshaped block or one of seven animal silhouettes. Simple instructions are included. Stellar flute kits make great gifts, can be bought for school or youth group projects and are great for woodworkers and wood carvers of any skill level. Stellar flute kits offer you a very inexpensive way to experience our great sounding flutes.

What's Included
  • A western red cedar unshaped flute in the key of F#

  • An animal shaped totem of your choosing

  • A leather strap

  • An instructional booklet

Happy with the final results, but... January 12, 2018
Reviewer: Joseph Yeatman from Tucson, AZ United States
I enjoyed shaping, finishing, and adorning this flute with malachite cabochons.   It now has a nice sound, but I did have to more than just shaping and finishing.  The sound hole was poorly shaped due to the 2 halves not being mated up closely.  Quite a bit of filling and filing solved this.  And there was 'hanging chad' wood fibers in the SAC, and a roughly drilled air passage from the mouth to the SAC.   The folks at a local flute circle helped me diagnose the untidy sound in the highest to tones.  It was not particularly easy to clean these 2 items up.      Final result - I was disappointed with the level of care put into the kit, but overcame it and now have a nice looking, very nice sounding flute.   The Stellar site implies that the pre-tuned kits get the same careful construction (at least regarding the sound-producing bits) as the finished flutes.  I don't think this is the case.  I have a Stellar Premier E, and it's bore, air passage, SAC, and all holes are all much cleaner.

Flute Workshop February 10, 2017
Reviewer: Andre Couillonneur from Edmonton, AB Canada
I recently purchased some flute kits for a workshop for employees that lasted for four days and they all really enjoyed learning how to make flutes and I also taught them how to play as well.
