What is a Premiere Flute?
Our Premiere line of Native American style flutes are tuned to the pentatonic minor scale and made out of a number of high quality, hard and soft woods . They feature our decorative signature “Stellar” block and come in a wide variety of keys.

What is the difference between a Premiere and a Basic Flute?
Our Premiere flutes have a colorful cotton wrapping, feature an elegant bird shaped block, and come in a variety of hard and soft woods, as well as a wide selection of keys. Our Basic flutes are only made in three keys and are all made out of western red cedar. They are also less decorative.

Is a Premiere Flute right for me?
If you are looking for a beautiful and unique flute, or a flute in a key that we don’t offer our Basic line of flutes in, then a Premiere is right for you. All of our Premiere flutes are one of a kind and are perfect for people who want a flute made of an interesting piece of wood.

Do you have sound samples of your flutes?
Yes we do! There are videos of each Premiere being played on each item page. Just click on the picture of the flute you want to hear, and scroll down to find the video of me sampling it.

This Native American style flute is made of Sitka spruce. It is not a good choice for someone with small or inflexible hands. The fingering hole stretch is slightly more than our G flute. This key has a lovely low, mellow voice.
Sitka spruce is a softwood so it would be a good idea to buy or make a carrying case to protect your flute from dents.

I’ve reduced the price on this flute because it has a dark stabilized crack at the mouth end as shown in the pictures. This is a visual flaw and doesn’t affect the voice or structure of the flute.

This Drone flute is made out of western red cedar with a contrasting wood spline running down the center. It has two blow holes so you can play it as a single or a double flute. Our Drone flutes feature an optional hole on the drone side that you can choose to leave open, plug with the included cork, or play as I do in the video. This is not a good choice for a beginner. Drone flutes take a little more air and are wider across. The hole spacing is the same as our Basic G flute This flute is made out of a beautiful piece of Oregon ash. This flute is made from a lovely piece of cherry wood. I have reduced the price on this flute because the top note jumps up when it is pushed as you can hear in the video. It is controllable and you can learn to use it as an additional note in the scale.
